Overview

Customizing your community in MemberUp allows you to align its look, feel, and settings with your brand. From adding your logo and cover image to setting your community name, description, and visibility, you can easily manage all customizations in the Settings panel.

Steps to Customize Your Community

  1. Access Community Settings

    • From your community home page, click Settings on the right.

    • Under General, you’ll find all options to customize your community.

  2. Add a Profile Photo

    • Click Select a photo to upload your community logo or icon.

  3. Set a Primary Color

    • Choose your preferred brand color under Primary color to match your visual identity.

  4. Upload a Cover Photo

    • Click Upload Cover Photo and select an image at least 800 x 450 pixels in size.

    • The cover photo appears at the top of your community’s main page.

  5. Update Community Details

    • Community name – Edit your community’s display name.

    • Community description – Add a short tagline or mission statement.

    • URL – Set your community web address (this can only be changed once).

    • Support email – Add a contact email for members to reach your team.

  6. Set Visibility Preferences

    • Public – Anyone can view members and posts; content is discoverable in search engines.

    • Private – Only approved members can view posts; your community remains hidden from search engines.

  7. Save Changes

    • After customizing, click Save to apply your updates.

Tip

You can revisit the Settings page anytime to update visuals, contact info, or switch between Public and Private visibility.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

My logo or cover photo isn’t uploading

  • Confirm your file is in a supported format (JPG, PNG) and under 5MB.

  • Try refreshing your browser or re-uploading the image after clearing cache.

  • If the upload still fails, test using an incognito window.

My color selection isn’t showing on the live page

  • Click Save after selecting your Primary Color.

  • If the issue persists, refresh the page or clear your browser cache to reload the latest style settings.

Can I change my community URL after saving it?

No. Your URL can only be changed once. Choose it carefully to reflect your brand or community identity.

I switched visibility but my community still appears public

  • Double-check that you clicked Save after updating the setting.

  • If your community is cached publicly, changes may take a few minutes to reflect.

  • For private communities, ensure members log in before viewing posts.

Can I use different branding for multiple communities?

Yes. Each community in MemberUp can have its own logo, color scheme, and cover image.

Is there an image template or recommended size guide?

Yes.

  • Profile photo: Minimum 500 x 500 pixels.

  • Cover photo: 800 x 450 pixels

  • Use clear, high-resolution images for the best appearance on all devices.

My Favicon on browser tab no longer appears

MemberUp v2 currently does not support custom favicons for community pages. This means the MemberUp logo now appears by default on your tab, and that isn’t customizable in v2 at this time.
