How Members Update Payment Info

Learn how members can update their payment method in MemberUp through Stripe. This guide covers accessing billing settings, changing card details, and reviewing subscription information.

Overview

Members can easily update their payment method details directly inside MemberUp.

All payments are handled securely through Stripe, and any changes made will automatically apply to future payments for your community subscription.

This ensures uninterrupted access to community content and courses.


Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Log In to MemberUp
    Use the email associated with your active subscription.

  2. Click on Profile > Settings on top right.

  3. Click on Payment Methods on the left and click Add Card.

  4. Update your credit card information and click Save.

  5. Upon successful saving, a confirmation message will appear in the bottom right corner, indicating that the payment method has been successfully added.


  6. You can also select the card you wish to set as your default payment card by clicking on the ellipsis (…) located to the right of the card you intend to designate as your default. Additionally, you can remove a card based on your preferences.

    Upon completion, Stripe will apply the modifications to any upcoming charges using your updated payment method as the payment method.

I don’t see the payment method in profile Settings.

This menu only appears for members who have an active paid subscription in the community.

The new card isn’t saving.

Ensure the card details are correctly entered.

Can Admins update payment info for their members?

No. For security reasons, only the subscribing member can update their own payment method.

Will changing my card charge me immediately?

The collection process occurs either immediately or within a few hours, contingent upon the presence of any outstanding payments. Should no payments be due, the card will be utilized to collect the payment on the subsequent billing date.
