Overview

There may be times when you need to manage access to your community — such as removing inactive users or suspending those who breach guidelines. MemberUp makes it easy for community owners and admins to take these actions directly from the Members tab.

Steps to Remove or Suspend Members

  1. Log in to your MemberUp account as an Admin or Community Owner.

  2. On the main community page, click Members from the left-hand menu.

  3. Find the member you want to remove or suspend.

  4. Click the settings cog icon on the right-hand side of that member’s name.

  5. In the menu that opens, click Membership on the left side.

  6. On the Membership screen, choose one of the following:

    • Remove Member – Use this option to revoke access and remove them from your community.

    • Ban Member – Use this to suspend or permanently block a member from rejoining.

  7. Confirm your action when prompted.

Once removed, members will no longer appear in your Members list. If banned, they’ll be unable to rejoin unless unbanned.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

I don’t see the Remove or Ban options.

Only Admins and Owners have permission to manage member access. Check your role in the Membership section.

Can I undo a removal or ban?

  • If you removed a member, they can rejoin through your invite link or About page.

  • If you banned a member, please email us at [email protected] or click on the chat bubble on the bottom right so we can unban them for you.
